PMS, Dairy and Me

From early childhood until seven years ago I was fed dairy products like water. My family was convinced that if I didn’t eat dairy products I would shrivel up and die! Today, after being on a complete plant-based diet for seven years I’m happy to say that I’m much better for eliminating the poison. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!

Most chronic illnesses affect the people around the patient as well as the patient. However many diabetics fail to capture this idea nor use it in order to help improve their treatment and care.

If your diabetes is out of control, it is not just you who suffers, but those who love you as well. High blood sugar leads to complications which can mean catastrophic illness, frequent and long term hospitalization, loss of ability to earn wages and inability to contribute emotionally to the family unit. At the very least, high blood sugar can cause irritability and mood swings. This fact can cause stress for your spouse and children and other loved ones. Stress

Well I immediately took steps to change my work schedule and, the very next week, I resigned from two of the four contracts I had running. Having done that now meant that Tom and I had an exciting new opportunity to start focusing 100% of our work efforts towards our own business.

Antioxidants have been at the top of readers minds, apparently, because we keep getting questions about vitamins C, E and selenium. Everyone’s hoping to boost their immune system, prevent aging, up their brain power and so on.

Remember, there is still no evidence in medical literature to support megadoses of antioxidants. The new RDAs (Recommended daily amount) for vitamins C and E are designed to prevent deficiencies, NOT to promote your health if you’re already getting enough of them. For example, if you’re eating properly, you’re getting more than 200 mg of vitamin C everyday, far more than the RDA of 75mg.
